Following an extensive research project Subaru Australia commenced implementation in 1997 of a premium brand strategy that set high performance standards for each and every point where we interacted with our customers and potential customers.

Of high priority was the development of the website www.subaru.com.au which since inception has won numerous awards and is regularly rated in the top 5 automotive sites in Australia on the basis of visits and page views.

In response to our customers requests for further interactivity through our website, in particular the ability to purchase merchandise online we endured two unsuccessful (and expensive) projects with separate web developers in attempting to add the required ecommerce capability.

Not wanting to go the bespoke route again, our analysis of the market and QA process led us to Netmerchant who we commissioned in late 2004 to implement the desired ecommerce solution.

Netmerchant supplied us with an off the shelf, flexible, secure and robust product which in a short time enabled Subaru to provide an industry leading ecommerce capability in line with our customers wishes and high expectations.

As an aside, whilst not the priority of the project, merchandise sales have grown by more than 300% since implementation.
